These are the principles every story on Punjab Digital follows.
Accuracy and verification
We check facts before publishing, prefer named and on-the-record sources, and say clearly when information has not been confirmed. Breaking stories are updated as facts become clear.
Independence and fairness
Our reporting is not influenced by advertisers, sponsors, political parties or owners. We give people we report on a fair chance to respond, and we separate news from opinion: opinion pieces are labelled as such.
Sponsored content
Paid articles and press releases are always labelled “Sponsored” and name who paid for them. Advertisers never decide what our journalists write.
Sources and anonymity
We protect confidential sources. Anonymous sources are used only when the information is important and cannot be obtained another way, and an editor knows who the source is.
Sensitive subjects
We do not publish graphic images without warning, we protect the identity of victims of sexual violence and of children, and we report on religion, ethnicity and conflict with care.
Accountability
