Washington (Punjab Digital Desk) – Regarding the ongoing diplomatic negotiations and potential military actions involving Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that talks with Iran are progressing positively and that Tehran is interested in reaching an agreement. However, he noted that Iran is not a very reliable partner, as it tends to enter into agreements only to subsequently back away from them.
Speaking to the media in the U.S. capital, President Donald Trump made it clear that he is in no rush to reach any kind of agreement with Iran; we shall see whether or not Iran enters into a final deal.
In response to a journalist’s question regarding the possibility of renewed attacks on Iran, President Trump remarked that it was an extremely foolish question, adding: "Even if I intended to take such military action, would I disclose it to the media beforehand?"
Referring to U.S. military operations, President Donald Trump claimed that they have already successfully targeted Iran’s navy, air force, air defense systems, and nuclear facilities. He added that one or two other nuclear facilities remain to be addressed, and should the need arise, these could be targeted within just 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, clarifying the situation, stated that President Donald Trump has not yet reached a final decision regarding a renewed attack on Iran. Furthermore, no specific timeframe has been set for the ongoing negotiations between the US and Iran—which are being mediated by Qatar—though the US remains in favor of a diplomatic solution to end the conflict.
Meanwhile, the American newspaper *The Wall Street Journal* has claimed that the United States is preparing to resume bombing Iran—a potential military action that could take place following the U.S. midterm elections. President Trump has also consulted with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by phone regarding this matter.
In response to all these developments, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has stated that a noticeable and positive shift is evident in Washington’s tone. He confirmed receipt of a letter from U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, which is currently undergoing careful review; however, Iran has not yet sent any formal response to the letter.
